A. Fellowship with God

Examples of people who had fellowship with God.

1. Moses:- Exodus 19:3, 20; 20:1, 24:2, 25:22, 33:9

2. Enoch:- Genesis 5:22

3. Noah:- Genesis 6:9

4. Malachi:- Malachi 2:6

5. Mary of Bethany:- Luke 10:38-42; Matthew 8:23-27; 

B. We also must be in Fellowship with the body of believers.

Hebrews 10:25

- Fellowship is God's ordained order for mankind. Isaiah 43:7-21

Fellowship with God and with brethren go hand in hand

III. How do we have fellowship?

a. Being diligent and consistent in hearing the Word of God. Acts 2:42
b. By having fellowship in communion. Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 10:16-19
c. By continuing in fellowship with prayer. Acts 2:42; James 5:16
d. By meeting in the temple in one accord with singleness of heart. Acts 2:42
e. By sharing sufferings and happiness. Philippians 4:14, Romans 12:15
f. By associating with all levels of people. Romans 12:16
g. By practicing hospitality. 3 John 5, Romans 12:13
h. By sharing all things in common. Acts 2:44, 45; Hebrews 13:16

With whom are we not allowed to have fellowship?

-With unclean and satanic spirits.  I Corinthians 10:20

- With the unfruitful works of darkness. 2 Corinthians 6:14; Ephesians 5:11

- With darkness, belial, and infidels. II Corinthians 6:14-16

- Fornicators. I Corinthians 5:9-13

- Covetous. 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

-Extortioners 

- Idolators

-False teachers. II John 9:11

Do you know what Fellowship means?

FELLOWSHIP

1. What does Fellowship mean?

- There are three Greek terms used for fellowship in the New Testament.

  I- KOINONIA 

It means close association, communion, close relationship.

It is the most frequently used word for fellowship. This speaks of the act of using a thing in common.

 II- METOCHE

It means ' partnership' a holding with; a sharing.

 III- SUGKO

It means to be a joint partaker with.

2. With whom are we to have fellowship?

- We must be in fellowship with God. This is expressed through prayer, praise, worship and obedience to God.

Our fellowship with the triune God.

a) Our Fellowship is with the Father. 1 John 1:3

b) Our Fellowship is with the Son. 1 Cor. 1:9

c) Our Fellowship is with the Holy Spirit. Phil. 1:29; 2:11

Neighbour
World's view of neighbour is a person next to me or a person with same color of mine etc.
But Jesus' meaning of a neighbour is anyone who extends his hand to the one in need and he can be anyone, of any color or caste, of any country.
