What should every Parents and Church learn about Children ?

Matthew 19:13-15(NLT)

13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.

14 But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” 15 And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.

       People say that Children are the pillars of future. It's a very common saying. But is that really true??
That saying implies that the children are not very important now(present) but in the future they could be....
What a careless saying is this. Actually we forget that the children are as important as now, today as they will be tomorrow.

Jesus is our best example to follow in seeing the importance of children as He did.

Here is the lesson for both parents and to the church.

1. Parents: Bring your kids to Jesus
..One day some parents brought their children to Jesus....

This is what every parents should do or think about their children to draw them towards Jesus. Jesus is not an enemy to children. He is not a risk either to children. But He wants to bless kids, he wants to carry them on his lap. That's the kind of God Jesus is. 
But sadly many parents today do not think this important. They think bringing children to Jesus is a waste of time, waste of child's future etc. 
Even some parent's think that it's not still their age to know about Jesus. Let them play, let them sleep, let them grow. 
But who knows what tomorrow will bring? If that child dies unfortunately than the time is wasted indeed eternally. 

So my suggestions to every parents is that: Bring their kids to Jesus.




2. Church: Open the door for Kids

Jesus' disciples (grown up man) stopped children from coming nearer to Him. In one way they were showing their duties to their Master. But on the other hand they forgot what is Master's heart like. Master's heart is for the little ones. When the parents were bringing their kids to him for the blessings the disciples stood in between and stopped the kids. They might have thought the kids would be a disturbing to Jesus. Or, the kids will make Him dirty by touching and playing around Him. And they 'Rebuked' the children.
But their Master 'Rebuked' them. Watch it He rebuked them in front of the Children. Isn't it humiliating to be rebuked before small kids?

We should not be the one the stumbling block for people to come to Jesus. Instead we need to be a stepping stone for them. Specially for children I believe the Church needs to pay their full attention towards them. 

We hear about so many activities, so many ministries centered around adults and women, and youths. But few only for the Children Fellowships. People have an idea specially in Nepal most churches think that Sunday School is a place to keep children busy and not make noises while the worship service of the congregation is going on. 


So finally both the parents and church needs to play a vital role in introducing every children to Jesus. Bring them nearer to Jesus and not rebuking.
